Get Involved in Your Community

OneSource Staffing is more than just an employment agency – we’re members of the very same communities we serve. We love all of these communities and seek to do our part to improve them. With that said, here are a few ways that we could all get more involved in our communities this season.

Help a Food Bank

As the holiday season draws nearer, it’s easy to forget that some of our neighbors don’t have the same resources available to feed their families. According to Feeding Pennsylvania, 1 in 7 children in our state struggle with hunger. These hardships don’t disappear just because of the holidays. Take a look at the food banks in your area, and see if they could use any additional help. Consider making donations – canned goods, produce, even clothing are often desperately needed!

Clean Up

Littering has become an unfortunate reality in many of our communities. The Pennsylvania Litter Research Study estimates that there were over 500 million pieces of litter on Pennsylvania roadways as of January 2020. If we would each spend a couple days this holiday season cleaning up some of the litter in our communities, we could make a huge difference. However, always make sure to take proper safety precautions when working around roads!

Donate to Charitable Organizations

There are also many wonderful organizations focused on bringing holiday cheer to those who struggle this time of year. A few OneSource locations have partnered with Toys for Tots, an organization created and operated by the United States Marine Corps that collects toy donations. Take some time to learn about the organizations in your community and consider making a donation to help support their cause.
